Webinar Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Can I download the Webinar so I can watch it more than once?
Phone Pro's webinars are set up as "Pay per View" only. This means that each ticket to view a seminar one time is $99 for a Level I seminar, or $130 for a Level II seminar (with discounts for multiple simultaneous purchases). One way to get the most for this viewing price is to set the Webinar up in a conference room and train a group of people rather than having employees watch them individually. Handouts are also included in each seminar for continuing reinforcement of the techniques learned in each course.

How long will my password be valid after I purchase a webinar?
Passwords remain valid indefinitely until used, and only expire after the webinar has been viewed. So after you receive a password, you can watch a webinar immediately or at any time in the future. You can decide what works best for your schedule.

Are the webinars available in CD format that I can purchase?
The webinars are only available for online viewing and aren't formatted in CD format. This online format enables us to provide any updates to the material when needed. However, if you are interested in training a larger group by using our web seminar series please call us at 800-888-4893 to discuss our bulk discount pricing.

My webinar stopped after the first couple slides.
It's possible that the Adobe Flash Player didn't load properly or that the computer was not restarted after the Adobe Flash Player was loaded. After installation is complete, it is necessary to restart your computer, in order for Flash Player to work properly.

Flash is actually loading an MP3 audio stream. If the presentation seems to start but then stops on the first slide (or before), it's probably because the MP3 streams aren't being allowed to load due to security (IT) measures. If the MP3 audio streams aren't allowed to load, then the Flash Player won't see the MP3 audio, and the Flash Player will just sit there idle.

If the Macromedia Flash Player has been loaded and the computer has been restarted, then another option is to hit the pause button, then hit the play button. Some of our clients in other countries have found that this was the solution to their problem.

The Webinar will not load.
Pop-Up Blockers will keep the seminars from playing, so disable your Internet Pop-up Blocker before logging in. From your internet browser (such as Internet Explorer), go to Tools, drop down to Pop-Up Blocker and click on "Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker". If it asks if you always want to allow pop-ups from this site (phonepro.com), say "yes". If you don't see this as an option, then you may be able to add Phone Pro as a trusted site by another means. On your internet tool bar, look under Tools/Internet Options/Security/Trusted Sites/Sites. Enter "http://www.phonepro.com" and click "OK". If you do not see this pathway, then your company's firewall may have this process available to a select few employees. In this case, it will be necessary for you to submit the request that Phone Pro be added as a trusted site to your IT team.

If the webinar is loaded prior to the Pop-Up Blocker being turned off, then one of the webinar tickets may have been used. You will know if this is the case by the ticket number update, provided each time you log in. If a ticket was lost in error, then please contact us at 800.888.4893.

If you have turned off the pop-up blocker and are still not able to view the webinar, then your company firewall may be great enough that a computer technician may need to be involved in preparing your computer for viewing the webinars. It may be helpful for your IT technician to have the address from which the MP3 and audio files are streaming. We are streaming the mp3 audio through a Flash Media Server hosted by Influxis (www.influxis.com). All of the mp3 files are now processed on that server and streamed to the end-user.

Flash Media Server communicates with RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) over port 1935. If that fails, it will try again over port 443 (tunnel via https) and port 80 (tunnel via http) in an attempt to workaround firewall settings within a company, which prevents TCP/IP connections over non-standard ports. To test your system's compatibility with Flash Media server, go to this link and start the test.

Screen Resolution - For the best possible view, please be sure your screen resolution is set to 1024 by 768 pixels. Just follow these simple steps before you login to your course:

Click on "Start"
"Settings"
"Control Panel"
"Display"
"Settings"
Go to "Screen Resolution" and move the bar to "1024 by 768 pixels"
Click "OK"
Your screen will go blank for a second or two, then will reopen with the new settings. If it asks if you would like to keep these settings, say "yes".

Once your webinar begins playing, you can hit the "F11" key on your keyboard to make the image larger.

I can't hear the webinar.
The Volume on your computer should be tested prior to logging in, so that it is certain that the audio portion of the seminar will be heard. You will find the option to turn on your speakers on your control panel. You will hear the seminar through your computer or "outboard" speakers. Please be sure the volume level is high enough that everyone can easily hear.

Other helpful hints.
Wireless internet may sometimes interfere with streaming video/audio - just hit refresh & it should start again.

Internet Cache will allow for future viewings to go more smoothly. After the seminar is loaded and has played all the way through, the web browser will create a cache version of the seminar. This will allow for future viewings to go more smoothly, but it will still be necessary for the viewer to login in with a password to access it. Having the presentation "cached" doesn't allow the participant to watch it anytime without logging in, it just prevents future viewing problems.

I've tried all of the trouble shooting points, but I still can't load the webinar.
"Back Door" Access to the Webinars is one last possibility when nothing else seems to work and we're unable to identify why the webinar isn't playing. This method is more taxing on our servers, thus should only be used as a last resort. Please call us at 1-800-888-4893 to arrange for this access.
